About This Home Officer

I'm a Wife and Mom who works a 40+ hour per week job from the comfort and chaos of my home office. After several years in traditional corporate America with an easy commute and a cubicle of my own, I transitioned to working from home in 2006, originally as my own boss, and now as an employee of an awesome company who is based on the other coast. In 2008, telecommuting took on a new level of complexity with the arrival of my first daughter, and 4 years later, daughter #2 shook things up with her own tour de force.

My job requires me to be on the phone for client consultations, conduct a lot of live, online training, and travel across the country for speaking engagements, all of which I love. That travel, however, means being away from my family for days at a time, which I don't love as much.  And with my amazing husband travelling frequently for work, as well, you can imagine the havoc that is wreaked on a regular basis! It's becoming more and more important for me to find ways to ensure that the time I am working is as productive as possible, and the time with my family is as engaging as possible.  Working from home can be both a blessing and a curse on both fronts.

The good news is that I'm not the only one trying to figure it all out. And this is where my Home Officer Network comes in. This blog is all about how to lean on, learn from, and laugh with other working moms who know that Home Is Where the Office Is.
